№ 0000803986

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the North Ink stack.

Edition 803,986 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly pentagons, mostly saffron. It sits in block 164,328, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Someone numbered it in pencil. Binder Sato set it down in a punched card, and the sheet shows fibers lifted where a label was peeled.

It is folio 986 of Pine 1, in the Quiet Walk, North Ink stack. The place-name on the slip no longer exists.
