The Folded Diary

№ 0020201993

Common

Winter bird counts — kept in the North Brass stack.

Edition 20,201,993 of 1,000,000,000. 100 shapes, mostly triangles, mostly lilac. It sits in block 138,869, minted with that block's other 4,999 editions, scattered across the billion.

Someone numbered it in pencil. Proofreader Khan set it down in a punched card, and the sheet shows tape along the fold.

It is folio 993 of Elm 1, in the Quiet Aisle, North Brass stack. The place-name on the slip no longer exists.
